Such is the case of a study of a study authored by a research associate at the Harvard School of Public Health, appearing in the journal Injury Prevention. According to a report on the research by Bloomberg/Business Week: “Cyclists using special bike-only tracks that are physically separated from street traffic have fewer accidents compared to bikers pedalling [sic] alongside motor vehicles, a new study finds.” Dedicated bike trails are safer than biking on shared roads.
